Life Lately

I just want to start off by saying a huge thank you for liking, commenting, and subscribing to my blog. I do want you all to know I do really appreciate all of the love you’ve been giving me and my blog. I do still stop in and read up on everyone but don’t always have the time to comment, or even reply to comments on my own blog posts, so I do apologize for that but I am grateful for all of you and want to make a better habit to sit down once or twice a week and really go through everybody’s blogs, see what everyone’s up to, maybe comment …so you know small steps.

I just wanted to fill you all in on whats going on with my life lately because I haven’t really done a life update in forever. So that’s what this is going to be.

First I figured I’d start with school since thats definitely what’s taking up the majority of my time. School has been pretty good, pretty crazy. On school days I have been very busy. Just this week we learned perms & styling which is a new thing to me, and they’re not as bad as I thought they’d be. We did have to do a song and dance in front of the other classes, so that part was not as fun but we did it and its over. I go to school Monday through Thursday 5 to 10 pm. So far we have covered styling, hair color, waxing, manicures and pedicures, and we’ve done a lot of book work on things like anatomy, diseases, disinfectants (stuff nobody really wants to go over). I really like my classmates.. they are very good at what they do so they definitely keep me motivated.

You know I can’t complain. I do work this weekend but I’ve had the past 3 off so if you’ve been following my blog you know that that was a HUGE issue a little while ago… I wasn’t getting any time off because we didn’t have any staff. So my new coworkers the only two we have now besides me are my new manager and my new coworker (who I did get hired, I worked with her before, shes awesome). The new coworker is pregnant .. and the manager always has some kind of drama going on.  You know they don’t like to work that much but they’re there so I am very grateful for that. We did get some new products to try recently that I want to do a blog post on.

I have been trying at least once or twice a week to get a blog post up. I always do my Sunday Funday post since I usually have a little free time even if I am working. I haven’t been blogging as much on weekdays obviously due to my schedule. I get up at 530 am and I don’t get home until 11 pm so it’s really hard to find time to sit down and blog. I like to schedule blog posts in advance, so sometimes people wonder like “Hey you never commented me back but you just put out a new post”. I just want you to know that I do plan out a lot in advance on days off. Like today I’ll probably try to get another blog post done just so that there’s always something fun and current on my page. Lately I’ve been trying to wait for things that really inspire me to write about.  I don’t want to give you bad quality just because i’m trying to produce something so.. that’s that.

Also I was thinking about starting a youtube channel just not quite yet given how insane things have been. I do think one day i want to start one up though so if if anyone out there has a youtube and has made the successful transition from writing a blog to producing a vlog i’d love to hear your advice on how you got started, what differences you saw, if you like it.. so on and so forth. So if you have any input you’d like to share leave it in the comments below.

Relationship/Life Updates.
I’ve really been quite a hermit. I’ve had a lot of friends ask to do things and I just haven’t had it in me to get out. School has taken up a lot of my free time because if i’m not there I either have homework or need to practice things. We start taking clients on the floor and move from the classroom to the workspace sometime in the end of february.. so not too far from now. It’s kind of stressing me out because i want to make sure everything i’m doing is right so I think once I’m onto that everything will improve a little bit. I’ll still be working the same hours but I think i’ll be a little more present and that’s really what i’m working on now in life. Me and Elliott are doing great, hes got a little cold right now, so if you’ve ever taken care of a sick guy you know that’s a whole thing in itself, but we are pushing forward & he’s getting better..

For the new year I didn’t set any actual resolutions like “oh i want to lose weight, or look like this, or diet”..  I did decide that I want to make it to the gym at least three times a week which I was having a really hard time doing before because I have to get up at like 530 to get to the gym and get to work at 8. Elliots been really helpful though he’s been making my lunches the night before and sometimes breakfast too. I usually make a protein shake on gym days or something ready. I have for the past 3 weeks made it at least 3 times a week which is great! i’m trying to make it Monday, Wednesday, and Friday that way if I miss any days I have plenty of time to make up. So i’ve been trying to increase my cardio, right now I do a 22 minute run which i’m okay with. My goal for 2017 is to run 40 minutes straight which sounds crazy but in 2016 I went from not being able to run more than 2 minutes to doing 30 minutes straight so i’m hopeful. I’ve also been trying to eat more clean and really focus on things that are good for me, focus on my health, and stay away from negativity. I started reading Melissa Ambrosini’s Mastering Your Mean Girl and i love it. Its pretty much all about how to stop being so critical on yourself so that you can really be successful. She kind of goes into how if you allow yourself to tell yourself that you’re not good enough or you’ll never be able to do certain things or somethings going to be too hard for you.. ect, ect. you’re not going to get the success you’re dreaming of. No matter how bad you want it or how much effort you put towards it if you self sabotage yourself you’re just not going to make those steps forward. So I am so into that and being more spiritual and a little more holistic with meditating and stuff.

And in an effort to start moving towards my overall improvement I set small goals for the week. I try to keep them small and easily achieveable that way i don’t get too ocd/perfectionist because once again that isn’t good for anybody. So far its made a huge difference. I made all of these goals in my evernote app which is awesome. I actually recorded this post while doing dishes this morning on their audio section. You can take pictures of things, set reminders, make lists (with cute little check boxes) ect. You guys should really check it out.
